The Red Delicious is an apple cultivar, established in Iowa in 1880. It is one of the most famous and widley grown American apples.
Well adapted to temperate areas, does less well in warm temperate areas. This tough skinned, juicy, rather coarse textured yet sweet tasting apple is so well known it needs no description.
